The ThermaCel Window System by Billy Ellis- Frames
There are four components of ANY window:
The frame, the spacer between the glass, the glass itself, and the gas between the glass.
The ThermaCel Window System by Billy Ellis leads the industry in every single component: let's look at why!
The frame of the window not only surrounds the glass, but provides structural integrity for the window. Most importantly, the frame significantly impacts the energy efficiency of the window. The ThermaCel window frame is the most energy efficient frame in the industry. Period. To find out why, let's start with the frame materials, and solve an ongoing debate...
Why Vinyl vs. Fiberglass or something else?
Vinyl is far superior to all other substrates when it comes to energy efficiency. Vinyl is up to 6 times more energy efficient than fiberglass, wood, or metal. It is also recyclable. Have you ever seen a fiberglass boat left out in the sun for even one year, much less 10? The oxidation alone ruins the appearance: and that's even with a marine-quality paint finish designed to withstand corrosive salt water and sun. The key to reaping maximum benefit is ultra-quality vinyl.
The ThermaCel Window System frame features Mikron Vinyl, the highest quality vinyl made. What does this mean? The proprietary resins and stabilizers used to make the vinyl increase UV protection and minimize weathering.
And the proprietary stainless steel tooling process used to create Mikron vinyl ensures consistently superior smoothness. Why is smoothness important? The smoother the vinyl, the less dirt and grime collects on it. Therefore, the vinyl will stay beautiful far longer than others.
In fact, Mikron Vinyl is subjected to a battery of 14 tests for weathering, heat absorption and resistance, desert climate, tensile strength, weight tolerance, and others, and exceeds the American Architectural Manufacturer's Association industry quality controls year after year, and as you'd expect, is backed by the industry's best warranty.
The ThermaCel frame utilizes the EnergyCore fusion insulated frame system.
What makes our frame system the best? Using this ultra-quality vinyl, already the most energy efficient material for your windows, the fusion insulated EnergyCore AirCell system increases the thermal performance of the vinyl by an INCREDIBLE 81%.
The AirCell material is thermally bonded to the actual extrusion, and fills the extrusion 100%. Other foam-filled systems are manually filled, and don't bond to the extrusion OR fill 100%.
Finally, another unique and unmatched benefit to vinyl is that the corners are welded. In all other window systems, the corners are attached by glue or other mechanical process. This makes the corner, (which holds the shape of the window), the weakest part of those systems. By contrast, the weld on the ThermaCel window system means that the strongest part of the window is the corner, ensuring shape retention and structural rigidity.
Finally, instead of painting the frame, as the fiberglass boat example before, the ThermaCel Window System by Billy Ellis features the SuperCap SR acrylic cap, which is actually fused to the frame, and features a patent-pending low-heat absorbing technology to reduce heat-distortion. Compared to proven coatings on the market, SuperCap SR has the lowest heat build-up of all of the coatings tested.
From the ultra-quality vinyl, to the EnergyCore fusion insulated system, to the rock-solid, welded corners and SuperCap SR acrylic coating, you will not find a better, more energy efficient, durable, recyclable frame anywhere, at any price.
The Window Spacer
The next component of any window is the spacer, or the strip located between the panes of glass. The ThermaCel Window System by Billy Ellis features the most energy efficient spacer made: the Duralite spacer.
Most spacers have some metal content, or are made of metal completely. This causes two problems: 1) transfer of energy through conductivity, decreasing energy efficiency, and 2) risk of condensation build-up.
The Duralite spacer contains no metal of any kind, using a polycarbonate spacer, which creates pillows of air, which reduce both energy transfer as well as moisture. The moisture barrier is continuous, three-sided, and impermeable to gas and water vapor, which also helps keep the gas between the panes from leaking out.
The Duralite Spacer offers a u-value of .30, which is equivalent to an R3 rating, which, by itself, exceeds Energystar 2010 standards...this is unmatched by any other spacer.
