ThermaDeck
Improved Radiant Barrier
We have been doing composition roofing just as long as we have been doing metal. We have taken all of the good things we have learned from metal and applied it to our composition division. Billy Ellis has created and patented the number one rated radiant heat barrier in the country, ThermaDeck. That is a pretty big claim for us to make, but we are not asking you to take just our word. Oak Ridge Laboratories does all the Radiant Heat testing for the United States Government. You guessed it, Therma Deck by Billy Ellis tested much higher than any other radiant heat barrier. The secret is in the design. Learn more about ThermaDeck.
Composition Roofing
If you have ever traveled around the world you may have seen many different roofs with a variety of material used to make them. These types of materials may range from banana leaves, wheaten straw or seagrass, to laminated glass, aluminum sheeting and precast concrete. However, here in Mid-America the most widely used roofing material is the composition shingle. Commonly known as asphalt shingles, they come in two types, differentiated by the base material. They consist of either an organic fiber mat or fiberglass core. Each type is impregnated with asphalt and coated with mineral granules to add color and texture. An adhesive back combined with nails, tacks or staples is the fastening method used. You will most likely find a "good/better/best" selection. Compare warranties (number of years the roof should last) when shopping. Shingles are available in the common 3-tab style or newer architectural design that replicates other roofing materials such as wood or slate. (roofing colors and styles..)
